Can you see the nine puppies in the x-ray above?
The skulls look like squished circle outlines and the spines look like stretched out springs.
This x-ray was taken two days before the puppies were born. The right side of the picture is her tail end. Her spine is at
the top. Notice the hip bones?
Nine puppies is a large litter for a Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier. Bigger dogs usually have bigger litters. It is sometimes
easier for the mother dog if she has a big litter, because the pups tend to be smaller. But then she has to have enough
milk stations and patience to care for them after that.
